It’s a ’79 900t, I bought approximately 2 years ago already painted this colour. I have replaced the grill for an original black rather than the white it was painted, added the front & rear badges and am now looking for an original set of wing mirrors rather than the later ones fitted. I would eventually like to get the paint job back to the original white all over with black bumpers. I had the cylinder head skimmed and gaskets changed last year. The exhaust manifold was cracked so I have had the whole thing replaced with an 850 coupe exhaust.

We have most but not all of the original orange and brown checked cushions but I have stored those in the loft and fitted newer firmer foam (very comfy) with new covers (made by mum). The front seats are also in good condition but I have put covers on to protect them also.

When we bought it the brakes were not all working and the steering was extremely loose, that was a very scary drive home!!

Up top is the hard pull out single beds. All cupboards, cooker and sink look original.

I have continually had problems with overheating and it looks as though my local mechanic has fixed the problem (fingers crossed), after the radiator cowling below the engine a metal sheet had been missing that scoops air into the engine bay. He calculated this from a few empty screw holes and I have just had it confirmed from a few pictures that a guy from Ebay took for me of the underneath of his Pandora that he is selling. So hopefully when/if the sun shines I will be able to get out more without problems.

Last year I had a major change in my work circumstances and found myself having to set up my own company which I now proudly display the website on the sides and rear of the van, there is a picture of the van on the site www.amigopackaging.co.uk the name was my wife’s idea, there are also pictures on my cards and letterheads. So far one person has said they used to own one and another knew what it was but mostly people are fascinated by it and the seating/sleeping capacity.

There has been 14 former keepers on the log book and the odometer currently shows nearly 38k. Everywhere you go people stare from the windows of their cars, you get waved at by children, I have even been followed by somebody onto a car park so as they could take a picture of it.

Last week I purchase an original brochure for the 900t Citivan, now I need the Amigo brochure as I only have B&W copies of a coupe of the pages.
